Lezzeno, with its many villages, located on the
shores of the Lake of Como and on the slopes
of the mountains, is the first country that
you meet going down from Bellagio to Como.
From a tombstone of I-II century AD, walled in
the bell tower of the church, we know that the
area was already inhabited in Roman times.
Of particular interest are the Church of
SS. Quirico and Giuditta (sixteenth century),
the Oratory of Our Lady of the Strain
(fifteenth century), and the Silva Palace.
To visit, by boat, the cave of the Bulberi,
famous for the sunlight color effects, and the
Grosgalli stones, suggestive cliffs on the lake.
Lezzeno is also an important artisan center
for the production of wire and wire mesh,
and home to shipyards.
